Kim, I so much appreciate everything you wrote here. I could sit and talk with you for hours about some of these topics. One of the first published articles I wrote decades ago was simply called “Big Girls do Cry.” I’ve often joked that I’m part of a frequent cryers club! Tears are incredibly releasing. On another note, as I mentioned when I saw you at Singing Hills, I am going to move to Substack soon. Meeting with my web helper today to discuss it. If you have any tips for me, I’d welcome them! I’m also working on a new book proposal, and saving this particular post to get your permission later to perhaps quote you.
Thanks, Maggie - and what a great article title! I wish I knew that when I was younger. I spent too many year hiding my tears or feeling embarrassed by them. Happy planning!!
I finally had a chance to read this entire post and oh goodness, what a encouragement to my heart this morning, Kim. Seeking God's goodness in the midst of tears and exhaustion and hardship. So good. Thankful for you!!
Congratulations to your daughter and I hope your car situation is resolved.
I felt so much of this. It seems like there are times when life is so fast and so many things hit at once. Unexpected expenses and the worry of fixing things is stressful. And yet He helps us work things out in His way 🙏🏾
Thank you! We finally got the car back home, though it’s still not fixed (needs an engine - ugh). But what an opportunity, in all of our worries and uncertainties, to witness God’s grace and goodness, even in the loss and grief.
Thank you for pointing me back to Jesus and also reminding me that it's okay to cry! I appreciate you so, so much, friend.
Big hugs right back 💜
